முரண்பாடு - பாவங்களும் இறைவனின் இருத்தலும்

இறைவன் இருப்பது உண்மை எனில்,

1. இறைவன் பாவங்களை அழிக்க நினைக்கிறான் ஆனால் முடியவில்லை.
அல்லது
2. அவனால் முடியும் ஆனால் செய்ய விரும்பவில்லை.
அல்லது
3. அவனால் முடியாது மற்றும் செய்யவும் விரும்பவில்லை.
அல்லது
4 கடைசியாக அவனால் முடியும் மற்றும் செய்யவும் விரும்புகிறான்.

1. அவன் பாவங்களை அழிக்க நினைக்கிறான் ஆனால் முடியவில்லை எனில்,
அவன் "எல்லாம் வல்லவன்" இல்லை.

2. அவனால் முடியும் ஆனால் செய்ய விரும்பவில்லை எனில்,
அவன் "கருணையுள்ளவன்" இல்லை.

3. அவனால் முடியாது மற்றும் செய்யவும் விரும்பவில்லை எனில்,
அவன் "எல்லாம் வல்லவனும்" இல்லை, "கருணையுள்ளவனும்" இல்லை.

4. ஆனால் அவனால் முடியும் மற்றும் செய்யவும் விரும்புகிறான் எனில்,
பாவங்கள் எப்படி இருக்க முடியும்?

Either God wants to abolish evil and cannot,
or he can but does not want to,
or he cannot and does not want to,
or lastly he can and wants to.

But if God can abolish evil and wants to,
how does evil exist?
